Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the fell 1.37% to hit a new 6-months low.

The best performers of the session on the were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:), which rose 1.08% or 0.20 points to trade at 18.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:) added 0.61% or 0.05 points to end at 8.25 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:) was up 0.22% or 0.01 points to 2.33 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:), which fell 3.97% or 0.44 points to trade at 10.64 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:) declined 3.03% or 0.08 points to end at 2.56 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:) was down 2.32% or 0.01 points to 0.44.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged.

Shares in EDP Renovaveis (ELI:) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.97% or 0.44 to 10.64.

Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.43% or 0.31 to $72.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.47% or 0.32 to hit $68.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.68% or 17.85 to trade at $2,599.85 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.57% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 106.07.
