This weekend is Orthodox Christmas and Russia said it will declare a truce from 1200 on Jan 6 to 2400 on Jan 7, according to Interfax.
This is after Patriarch Kirill — who is Putin’s top priest — called for a Christmas truce.
The market has bounced on this but I wouldn’t take it as a sign of peace.
